It is normal that when your new rug is opened and unrolled that there will be odd smells in your home. This is a common issue on rugs of all constructions with different fibres and manufacturing techniques.

1. Vacuum your rug

We recommend airing the rug to allow the smells to disperse and gently vacuuming the rug (without brushes/roillers) to remove any loose yarns and the smells that accompany them. A vacuum with a HEPA filter will be help remove and toxins and allergens.

2. Air the rug

Place the rug in a room with a good flow of air, if possible in sunlight as the UV rays will help to remove the odours. The rug can be turned and aired on both sides and we recommend several sessions of 6 - 8 hours for effective results.
